👽 Frozen Alien – Game at the beginning
GTA 5’s prologue contains an extremely easy to miss alien Easter Egg.
As Michael, Trevor, and Brad escape the police, player can follow a normal route, but when arriving at the frozen river area and going under the bridge, an alien figure can be seen frozen within the ice.
Most interesting about this discovery is that Rockstar has already included a hint as to what this alien and its mystery could be, right in the game’s opening!
Why it’s interesting:
The player has discovered a clue to GTA 5’s supernatural/alien theme right at the beginning of the story.
2👻 Mount Gordo Ghost
This is one of the most famous GTA 5 secrets.
Somewhere around 11 PM to midnight at Mount Gordo, a ghostly figure can be seen. Underneath the figure on a rock is the blood-like writing “JOCK”.
The ghost figure is connected to the GTA lore via Jolene Cranley-Evans, who’s husband is named Jock Cranley.

Interesting part:
Rockstar did not make this scene a jump-scare, but instead connects the mystery to the story of GTA via the ghost’s writing.
3. 🛸 Mount Chiliad UFO Mystery

Within the mountain’s cable-car station, there is a mysterious mural which displays a variety of different symbols, such as:
UFO
Egg
Jetpack-type symbol
Mountain-related symbols

The mystery became so popular, that GTA community members spent years on investigating the meaning behind the mural’s symbols!
Important:
Although a few of these theories are actually confirmed, some parts of the Mount Chiliad mystery still remain to be fan theories.
4. 🌊 Ocean beneath a Crashed UFO
GTA 5’s world is not limited to just land areas.
On the ocean’s bottom in the Paleto Bay/Procopio Beach’s offshore area lies a crashed UFO.
The UFO is underwater, and can be quite difficult to spot during normal gameplay.
To spot this secret, players can benefit from having access to underwater exploration/submersible vehicles!
Interesting fact:
This underwater UFO sighting is completely different from the normal flying UFO sightings, and does not require 100% completion to view.
5. 🚪 The Underwater Hatch – Lost’s reference
On the ocean’s bottom, Rockstar also placed a mysterious metal hatch.

When approaching the hatch, mysterious knocking/coded sounds can be heard. The hatch itself is normally not opened, making this one of the most mysterious Easter Eggs in GTA 5.

6. ⛏️ Abandoned Mine
There is a mine entrance hidden within the Great Chaparral area.
Many players who have played hundreds of hours within GTA 5 could still easily miss this location!

7. 🏕️ Altruist Camp
Altruist Camp is connected to Trevor, and can be found in the remote mountain area of Blaine County.
The camp is the headquarters of an isolated cult-like group. The area features wooden structures, abandoned-looking buildings, and strange environmental details.
There are also special interactions between Trevor and the camp.
Why it’s a good secret:
It’s not just a random building, but Rockstar created an entire isolated group with its own atmosphere/story connection!
8. 🔢 Infinity Killer Mystery

Throughout the map, there are various clues which all point towards an Infinity/8 theme. Investigation leads to finding hidden evidence and bodies.
In order to find this Easter Egg, players need to carefully pay attention to environmental clues.

9. 🦶 Bigfoot – Myth finally confirmed
Since the GTA San Andreas era, Bigfoot has been a legendary mystery of the GTA community.
Rockstar added various references to Bigfoot within GTA 5.
While completing the mission Predator, the player can observe a forest area with a thermal scope and spot a suspicious creature-like heat signature.

Rockstar has referenced back to the long-running GTA San Andreas Bigfoot mythos within GTA 5.
10. 🚗 Thelma & Louise Easter Egg
GTA 5 also makes a tribute to the famous movie Thelma & Louise.
Within the Ratton Canyon area, during evening time, there is a special random event which can be observed. It involves police cars and a convertible creating a similar situation to the ending of the 1991 movie.
This is a perfect example of GTA 5’s cinematic Easter Eggs, where Rockstar recreated various movie memorable moments within the game’s open world.
